Voting Rights for Women

On August 26, 2020, we celebrated the 100 year anniversary of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which prohibits the government from denying U.S. citizens the right to vote on the basis of sex. This primarily allowed the right to vote for white women—the Voting Rights Act of 1965 expanded the right to vote even farther for women of color.
