Getting Started

A librarian assisting two studentsThis guide is designed to walk you through the basic process of doing research using library resources. It is organized according to resource type. You can use the Find Articles page to learn more about using databases and finding journals by title. The Find Books page will teach you to find books and ebooks available from Fulton Library. The Citations page walks you through the process of citing your research in both APA and MLA styles.

Library Research Tutorial

Much of what you learn in this guide can also be learned from our Library Research Tutorial. The interactive tutorial takes about 40 minutes to complete. Choose between branches for general research, ENGL 1010, ENGL 2010, or ENGH 1005. 

Research Guides

Fulton Library provides guides to research in many specific subjects. You may be able to find a guide that applies more specifically to the subject you're researching by browsing this list. Click on the subjects to see available guides.

Here are a few guides that can help you start more specific kinds of research:

OneSearch

OneSearch logoOneSearch is the Fulton Library's main database. It allows you to search the library's articles, books, streaming media, and more. OneSearch includes resources on almost every topic, making it a great place to start your research!

To use OneSearch, go to the UVU Fulton Library Homepage link below. OneSearch is the main search box on the page. Enter search terms into the box, then hit enter or click the magnifying glass. Once your search runs, you can filter your results clicking the All Filters button that appears below the search box.
